GF2022 in Vienna

The International Conference on Generalized Functions GF2022 held in Vienna, September 19–23, 2022.

This conference continues a series of international conferences on generalized functions with the long tradition of gathering researchers working in all branches of this field. The most recent conferences were held in Ghent (Belgium 2020), Novi Sad (Serbia, 2018), Dubrovnik (Croatia, 2016), Southampton (United Kingdom, 2014), Martinique (France, 2011) and Vienna (Austria, 2009). The GF2022 aims at a broad coverage of research on generalized functions and their applications in and interactions with other areas of mathematics and mathematical physics. Topics include, but are not limited to:
Distributions, ultradistributions, hyperfunctions and algebras of generalized functions
Linear and non-linear differential equations and stochastic analysis
Pseudodifferential operators and microlocal analysis
Geometric problems and non-linear distributional geometry
Applications in mathematical modeling and mathematical physics
Harmonic analysis, time-frequency analysis and function spaces
Functional analytic methods in the theory of generalized functions

Generalized Functions Online Workshop, celebrating the international day for women in mathematics, an online event on May 12, with the aim of increasing the visibility of the female members of our community and to facilitate scientific collaboration and networking within this group.

Special Session on Generalized Functions at the ISAAC Congress 2021

A Special Session on Generalized Functions was organized at the 13th ISAAC Congress, August 2–6, 2021, at the Ghent University, Belgium, in the framework of the ISAAC Interest Group in Generalized Functions, jointly with IAGF.

The session was devoted to theory and application of generalized functions, which comprise, among others, distributions, ultradistributions, hyperfunctions and algebras of generalized functions. Applications include, but are not restricted to, linear and nonlinear partial differential equations, asymptotic analysis, geometry, mathematical physics, stochastic processes, and harmonic analysis, both in theoretical and numerical aspects. The session is open to contributions on any aspect of generalized functions and their applications.

The International Conference on Generalized Functions GF2020 held in Ghent, August 31–September 4, 2020, and dedicated to the 70th birthday of Stevan Pilipović.

The conference continues a long-standing tradition of international conferences on generalized functions gathering researchers working in all branches of this field. The most recent conferences were held in Novi Sad (Serbia, 2018), Dubrovnik (Croatia, 2016), Southampton (United Kingdom, 2014), Martinique (France, 2011) and Vienna (Austria, 2009). The GF2020 aims at a broad coverage of research on generalized functions and their applications in and interactions with other areas of mathematics. Topics include, but are not limited to:

MicroLocal and Time-Frequency Analysis 2018

The Conference MicroLocal and Time-Frequency Analysis 2018, organized in honor of Luigi Rodino on occasion of his 70th Birthday, Turin, July 2-6, 2018.

In view of of Luigi’s many scientific interests, and of his life-long career, the conference covers a broad range of research areas. Topics include, but are not limited to:
– Fourier integral operators, pseudodifferential operators, microlocal analysis, and time-frequency analysis;
– Linear and nonlinear partial differential equations, solvability, and regularity;
– Function spaces, distribution theory, hyperfunctions, algebras of generalised functions, and integral transforms;
– Applications in mathematical modelling, mathematical physics, quantum mechanics and quantum fields theory.

This conference continues a long-standing tradition of international conferences on generalized functions gathering researchers working in all branches of generalized functions. The most recent conferences were held in Southampton (United Kingdom, 2014), Martinique (France, 2011), Vienna (Austria, 2009), Bedlewo (Poland, 2007), Novi Sad (Serbia, 2004), Guadeloupe (France, 2000), … and just to mention, Dubrovnik (1987).

As seen in retrospect through these conferences, the spectrum of interrelations with other fields of mathematics and applications has been steadily increasing. Following this trend GF2016 aims at a broad coverage of research on generalized functions and their applications. Topics include, but are not limited to:
· Distribution theory, hyperfunctions, algebras of generalized functions, integral transforms,
· Linear and nonlinear differential equations, solvability, regularity, stochastic analysis,
· Pseudodifferential operators and microlocal analysis, function spaces,
· Geometric problems and nonlinear distributional geometry,
· Applications in mathematical modelling and mathematical physics, applied analysis, control problems,
· Harmonic analysis, modulation spaces, time-frequency analysis.
